Mystery Science Theater 3000 (also known as MST3K, MST 3000, MST 3k or MST) is an American cult TV comedy series aired from 1988-1999 created by Joel Hodgson.
MST3K's character and plot was inspired by Douglas Trumbull's sci-fi film Silent Running.
This is a show about an evil experiment where a guy is trapped on a satellite and is forced to watch bad films. He is forced to do this by Mad Scientists, who want to find a movie so bad that they can inflict it on the world and take over. We see the movie with the subject (Joel or later Mike) and his robot pals Crow and Servo, in silhouette at the bottom of the screen making jokes and wisecracks during the movie.

They do the unimaginable; they make an utter piece of trash not only watchable, but hilarious. It's open season on ridiculous movies, and the film is merely a showcase of their regular television program of the same name.
